Date: 6 May
Organiser: European DBT Association

We are pleased to host our first webinar dedicated to reviewing the most representative and methodologically sound research published over the past year in the field of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. The webinar will feature four distinguished research teams whose studies were rated among the most notable and featured in the Research Digest section of our association’s newsletter. This event reflects our ongoing commitment to promoting empirical rigor, clinical innovation, and cross-disciplinary dialogue within the DBT community. These papers collectively illustrate the expanding scope and adaptability of DBT—from its digital implementation and safety in online interventions, to its comparative efficacy in trauma-related disorders, and its position within updated clinical practice guidelines. Noam Weinbach will share results from a randomized controlled trial testing an online DBT skills program for individuals coping with war-related distress. Ruben Vonderlin discusses the feasibility and clinical outcomes of online DBT for people living with Borderline Personality Disorder. Nikolaus Kleindienst explores how dissociation influences treatment response in PTSD, comparing DBT-PTSD with Cognitive Processing Therapy. Sara Landes interprets what the 2024 VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guideline for Suicide means for DBT’s proven effectiveness and continuing relevance. Following the presentations, a moderated question-and-answer segment and open discussion will provide space for critical reflection and shared perspectives among researchers, clinicians, and participants.
